Since we began participating in North Texas Giving Day in 2013, our Westlake families’ generous gifts have leveraged “Bonus Funds” secured by the Communities Foundation of Texas (aka: the folks running North Texas Giving Day). Over the years, we’ve used these extra monies to buy SmartBoards, 3D printers, library books and more! For the past few years, however, three things have happened surrounding Giving Day:
(1) A LOT more non-profits are participating; (2) A LOT more money is donated and earning bonus funds; (3) A LOT less money is in the “bonus pot” compared to prior years. Essentially, there’s less money available from the Communities Foundation of Texas to cover bonuses on the incredible amount of money raised by the 2,500+ participating non-profits! It is what it is, as they say! But we are thankful that the Bonus Funds earned by YOUR gifts help to significantly offset our Giving Day fees. With all of the great energy around Blacksmith Giving Day --- along with raising a huge chunk of our $1.03M+ goal --- being part of Giving Day is a pretty great return on investment! |

Is scheduled giving for you? Beginning September 9th at 8:00 AM, you can queue up your contribution to automatically run on September 19th. You can also turn in a check between now and September 19th (drop off at the front office or mail to the WAF) and your donation will count towards Blacksmith Giving Day. Set up your gift early and maximize your chance of winning prizes!

If you’d like to use your CREDIT CARD to spread out your Blacksmith Annual Fund gift over several months (i.e., multiple, smaller charges vs. one big charge)…JUST SAY NO when the Giving Day site asks if you want to make a “recurring gift.”

- We’ll gladly (and securely!) process your monthly donations here in the Foundation office at a savings of 2% in fees compared to Giving Day site.
- Donate your first month’s gift on Giving Day and we’ll handle the remaining months until your total donation is fulfilled. A lot of families spread their gift over 10 months (Sept 2019 – June 2020)….easy math, easy giving!
- We are happy to help you help WA! Remember, the amount doesn’t matter when you give from your heart!!!
